Testing age checks
Age verification code fails at the boundaries: someone whose 18th birthday is today, someone born on 29 February, and time-zone differences around midnight. Generate a batch around your cut-off age and include those edge cases explicitly in your tests.
Questions people ask
How does the random birthday generator work?
You set a youngest and oldest age. The generator picks a uniformly random day between the earliest and latest birth dates that give an age in that range today, so a person aged exactly 18 or exactly 65 can both appear.
Can I generate a random birthday for an adult?
Yes. Set the youngest age to 18 (or 21) and the oldest to whatever you need. That’s the usual setup for testing age-gated sign-up forms.
Can I get many dates of birth for test data?
Yes, up to 1,000 at once, sorted or unsorted, with ISO dates you can paste straight into a database seed or a CSV. For full fake records with names and emails, use the fake data generator.
Is the birthday paradox real?
Yes. In a group of 23 people there’s about a 50% chance that two share a birthday, and with 70 people it’s over 99.9%. Generate 23 birthdays a few times and look for matching month and day.
