Dates that catch bugs
Random dates are good at finding edge cases a hand-picked fixture misses. Include ranges that cross 29 February in a leap year, daylight-saving changes, month ends (the 31st) and year boundaries. Store timestamps in UTC and ISO 8601; convert to local time only for display. Times here are generated in UTC, so a date is never shifted by your browser’s time zone.
Questions people ask
Are the dates evenly spread?
Yes. The generator picks a uniformly random day (or millisecond, when time is included) between your start and end, inclusive, so every day in the range is equally likely.
What formats can I get?
ISO 8601 (2024-03-15), ISO with time and UTC offset, Unix timestamps in seconds or milliseconds, US (03/15/2024), European (15/03/2024) and long form (Friday, 15 March 2024).
Can I exclude weekends?
Yes. Tick “Weekdays only” and Saturdays and Sundays are skipped, which is useful for fake business transactions, appointments and ticket timestamps.
