Testing address forms

Address forms fail in predictable ways: fields too short for long German street names, postcode validation that only accepts US ZIP codes, required “state” fields in countries that don’t use them. Generate a batch per country and push it through your checkout, then check how labels and invoices render.

Questions people ask

Are these real addresses?

No. Street names, cities and postcodes come from Faker’s locale data and are combined at random, so an address may look plausible but isn’t meant to match a real property. Don’t use them to ship goods or register accounts.

Will the postcode match the city?

Not necessarily. Postcodes follow the right format for the country (five digits in the US and Germany, alphanumeric in the UK) but aren’t geocoded. For address-validation testing, use your provider’s official sandbox addresses.

Which countries are available?

United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Brazil and Japan, each using that country’s own address format.
